Justin Keckler volunteered in 1993 for service in the United States Marine Corps. He served for 8 years (active and reserve). He earned the National Defense Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Navy Achievement Medal. After the Marines, Justin served as a police officer in Chamberlain and Oacoma, South Dakota. Setting out on his own, Justin founded Patriot Security, an installer of video and audio surveillance and security systems. His
can do attitude, fast response, extraordinarily high level of professionalism and profound technical knowledge earned Patriot Security an enviable reputation. Alas, the path of life for Justin took an unexpected turn.
Justin was diagnosed with skin melanoma some four years ago. The cancer then spread to Justin's lymph system. He fought it to a stand still and was cancer free for not quite two years, until 2007. In January of 2007, the persistent disease mutated into a rare form of cancer of the blood. At the time there was no known effective treatment for this particular type of cancer. Once again, Justin volunteered, this time to serve all mankind. He offered himself as an experimental test bed for a new chemical regimen. Though progress was made, and much knowledge was gained, the cancer morphed again and has spread throughout his lungs. Medically, there was nothing remaining to be done.
Justin was sent home with pain killers and no hope. Unbroken in spirit, Justin got his earthly affairs in order and spent some few precious moments with his beloved spouse, Samantha, his daughter, Alayna, 4 years old, and his 18 month old son, Corbin.
Justin passed away 2 August, 2008 at approximately 8:30 p.m. CDT at his home in Oacoma, South Dakota. He was buried with Military Honors on 6 August, 2008 at Graceland Cemetery in Oacoma, South Dakota.
The A-Square Company feels it incumbent upon everyone to come to the assistance of those who volunteered for us. A fund in the form of a savings account and CD's has been started to provide for the education of Justin's children. A-Square of South Dakota, LLC is offering a voluntary round up program on all orders.
For those not ordering A-Square products, contributions can also be made directly through the bank.
